Eating disorders affect five million people in the U.S., and more than 10% of those diagnosed with Anorexia Nervosa will die from the disease. In the new verité documentary Thin, acclaimed photographer Lauren Greenfield enters the halls of the Renfrew Center in Coconut Creek, FL to document the faces behind these numbers. The result is a moving piece about the struggles with eating and weight - and the deeper issues that lie at the core of women who are, literally, dying to be thin. Through interviews, still photographs, and behind-the-scenes verité footage, the film tells the stories of four women between the ages of 15 and 30 whose pasts may be different, but who are now joined by a common illness. You can preview the piece here.
