"Understand the consequences of one bad choice..."

Monday November 20, 2006
Tony Silveria was quoted in this article in The Saratogian. Tony's son, Brandon, lost everything one night after a high school party, where he was drinking and he decided to drive home. "Understand the consequences of one bad choice," Tony Silveria said. "Think about making a choice for your friends. Friendship is about getting in their face and taking their keys."

Brandon hit a tree, was in a coma and has major brain injury. Now, Brandon and his father go around to high schools and talk to teens about drinking and driving.

This blog post is a conversation seed. It is my hope that you will use it to start a conversation with your teen. Not a lecture or a debate, just a chat. Try it tonight at dinner or email your teen the article link with a few of your thoughts. Conversation seeds can help you sow a strong relationship with your teen and enjoy the journey.
