Study Says Sex Education Works for Young Teens
I found it pretty interesting and wondered what you all might think about it. One thought to keep in mind is they are studying 12, 13, 14-year-olds that are having the sex education classes. Take our poll and/or leave a comment:
Do you think that today’s sex education classes are working for your young teen?
- Yes. I think my teen is learning something from a combination of his/her sexual education class and our talks at home.
- Yes, I think my teen is learning something from his/her sexual education class. I need to step up the talks at home.
- No, I think he/she isn’t learning as much as he/she needs.
- I’m not sure.
- My teen doesn’t have sex education class at school.

My 8th grade girls just did a social science project, asking should middle school girls receive contraceptives. The surveys returned suggested that our teens don’t know enough basic sex education information to make sound decisions about their bodies, sex OR contraceptives. Sex education is necesary, but what I find is that some of the people offering the info don’t know important facts themselves. they therefore promote harmful things like tampons & birth control pills. Parents need sex Ed classes so they canbe the primary source of this type of important training.
