The summertime is when many parents of young teens – and even older teens – start to panic because the end of the school year means that their teens will be home alone. But never fear, there are things you can do to insure that your teen will be safe, read about them in this article.

Since I work at home, mine are here with me. Which I find almost as bad considering they are always looking to me to find them things to do. Will your teen be home alone this summer? Share your tips with our parenting teens community in the comments area.

I was widowed when our son was 3 years old. Tomorrow is his 15th birthday. We relocated to NC from IL last June and I’ve involved him in 2 organizations: 100 Black Men of America, Inc. and ALLOT (African American Leaders of Tomorrow). At his very moment, he’s attending his 2nd of 2 organizational conferences – out of state. (I attended the 1st one with him in FL earlier this month.) Additionally, he’s working full-time for the City of Raleigh, in City Hall, in their IT department and this job will last until August 15th. Also, he’ll spend 1 week at NCSU’s Design Camp. In sum, I prepared my son at a very early age for what he’s comfortable with doing today.
