Teen Volunteer Opportunity - Deadline August 31st
Here is the link to the list of the eleven most needed items. The number one item is pencils and pens. I know there is a problem with world hunger too, but it bothers me that there are some children who do not have pencils for school.
Help your teen do this with three easy steps:
- Have your teen invite three friends to go shopping, telling them about school supply drive.
- Request the teens ask around for $2.00 donations for the school supply effort from the adults they know before the shopping trip.
- Take the teens shopping, purchasing the school supplies with their collected donations and dropping them off at your local Staples store first.
- Your teen will learn that volunteering doesn’t have to be a massive effort – every little bit helps.
- Having the responsibility of being given the donated money and using it for the school supply effort will build your teen’s confidence in him/her self.
- Produces a sense of belonging in the community for your teen – helps give him/her a strong sense of identity.
- Gives your teen a positive peer group experience.
