Study Has Linked Teen Depression and Lack of Sleep
Thursday June 11, 2009
MSNBC.com has two videos on the internet about a study done at Columbia University linking teen depression with lack of sleep. Great study with very interesting research. It does seem that earlier parental-mandated bedtimes would help teens avoid depression. Depression is something every parent wants to avoid for their teen. But, my problem is the disconnect between the doctor on the video and the real world implications of parents getting their teens to bed earlier. He seems to think that all it takes is a little more 'pushing for' ...hmmm.
Let’s take this research and get some practical information out of it by getting community advice on how we get our teens to go to sleep. Give us your parenting advice here.
