Get Your Teen to Relax Outdoors

One easy and inexpensive way for teens to spend time this summer is on the beach with a good book. Relaxing in the sun with a summer read or playing beach volleyball is always considered fun for teens. If you don't have a beach nearby, try a local park or lake. Taking this breather outdoors will get your teen ready for the upcoming school year, where they will be all cooped up and dealing with stress. And with so many free public areas to relax in this activity should cost close to nothing.

Hi Denise,
I really love this blog.
I am a clinical psychologist, and I work with teens a lot. I agree completely that teens can stave off a lot of stress and anxiety by just getting out, away from the home. So many new books are geared toward teens now that they can actually spend time reading something they LIKE during the summer.
I also blog about teens and parents at http://www.drjohnduffy.com, if you’d like to check it out!

A short camping trip can also be relaxing for teens and the entire family. With a couple of tents, teens can have their own privacy away from the parents. If food is packed, a short weekend camping trip can be quite affordable as well.
