Tenacity is to have perseverance and hold fast to your beliefs. A definition those producing the Glee Project should have probably let their contestants in on before assigning it for homework. Because coupling that with the fact that Max Adler, who plays a football playing, slushie throwing, in-the-closet gay bully, Dave Karofsky, on Glee, I believe the kids think they just have to look nasty and be mean to each other while they sing. One contestant even went as far as saying the word was 'ta-nasty'. And they do get nasty.

Oh well. I'm hoping most of our teens got the real message later as the contestants are asked to sing about all of the pressure while being drowned in slushies. That got the message across, right? A slushie facial would have done it for me!

Parent and Teen Conversation Starters: Ask your teen what tenacity means to them. What beliefs do they have that they would be willing to be slushied for?
