Should High Schools Have Recess Time? Absolutely! Says This Mom to Teens

I feel very strongly that high schools are missing out on an easy way to get teens to pay more attention in class. When you go all day with tough subjects like algebra, geometry, chemistry, biology, etc. your brain needs a break. Something to get the blood flowing. Physical activities are just the ticket as far as I'm concerned. And I'm not the only one who thinks so,. There have been studies from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine which show that recess is good for students. No, recess really shouldn't end in elementary school.

Tell me, where is the problem? I don't think it's with the students. I think it may be with the adults who will have to watch them and that's a shame. Share your thoughts in the comments area.

As a parent of a troublesome teenager. I feel teens are stressed and do need a break. Studies show giving yourself a break at work helps you focus so the same should apply to High School kids.

Absolutely! If we are promoting and teaching adults to “get up and do something” in the middle of the grownup workday to keep our health, why aren’t we emphasizing our post-elementary children to do the same!
