Parents of Teens Have Rights!

Somehow, I don't think that parents will ever get away with picketing in the kitchen when our teens forget to put their dishes in the dishwasher. But, it would be nice to find way to make that point - in such a way that it never happens again, right? And yes, I did just spend the last fifteen minutes loading the dishwasher with everyone else's dishes. I do have to admit, though, that I let my daughter off the hook for her chores tonight to go out to dinner with her boyfriend, so I guess I really can't invoke my 'parenting rights'. I will remember to make a trade next time, though. For now, I'll just be grateful my preteen was there to help. And since we're talking about parenting rights, let me know what you think of my new article in the comments area: Ten Rights and Responsibilities of Parents of Teens.
