For a wonderful ice breaker when wanting to get to know the parents of your teenager's friend, focus on something positive their teen did while with you, then call them to tell them. It's always nice to hear something good about your children. In the adolescent years, these types of comments can be few and far between. They will appreciate hearing from you.
