  • The first time you light the candle, allow it to burn until the liquid wax covers the entire top of the candle. Usually it is one hour for every inch in diameter. This breaking in process insures that it will perform better and more evenly throughout the life of the candle. ~ Denise

  • Keep wick trimmed to 1/4 inch at all times to avoid carbon build up on the wick (mushrooming), dark smoking and soot in the air and on walls or furniture. ~ Denise

  • Use toenail clippers to trim wicks in jars in which scissors won't fit. ~ Denise

  • To clean the black soot out of a glass candle holder use baby wipes. ~ Denise
