Homework Help
On the Net

Dateline 08/26/97

School is back in session, YEAH!!! You've been waiting for this moment since mid-July. Now, you can get back to the routine of everyday living.

The dinner dishes are done, the table is cleared and your teen has just sprawled out all of his books. As he opens one, he takes the position of 'The Thinker'. this could be a good sign, he is concentrating. But as you take a closer look, you see confusion written all over his face. OK, no problem, you decide to help and sit down next to him. Fifteen minutes later, you are sitting in the same position he was, and just as confused. This isn't as easy as when he was learning his times tables. Actually, it is downright difficult!

Never fear---the Net is here! Take a look at some of the homework resources that can be found online. You'll be glad you did, and so will your teen. (Of course, the makers of Tylenol might object.)

    • Schoolwork.ugh! - This site has been assembled by some librarians in Rockland County, New York in order to help you get homework done on those rare occasions when the library isn't open.
    • The StudyWeb - This site is this week's Parenting of Adolescents Site Award Winner! "This site is exactly what it says it is -- a place for anyone doing research to find the information they need as easily as possible. The categories are sorted according to the approximate appropriate grade level which makes them valuable tools for teachers looking for lesson plan and curriculum ideas. The information for each topic also notes the presence of downloadable or printable images for use as visual aids of school reports or projects. The variety of subjects and categories should allow most users to narrow in on a topic for a report, find background material for a story, begin research for a paper or just increase their knowledge of a particular topic." - says Education WorldTM
