Definition: In respect to parenting, a consequence is often the resulting action parents take when teens do something wrong. For instance, a parent make take away a coveted item if a teen does not earn a grade in school that is up to the parent’s expectations. But it can also be an action parents avoid to do because of a teen doing something that they shouldn’t have been doing. an example of this would be when a parent doesn’t give an allowance if a teen does not do their chore.
