Timeline for College
High School Schedule, Junior Year: February

By Denise Witmer, About.com

January | Jr Year Timeline Index | March

In February of their high school junior year your teen should:

  • Narrow down his/her college choices to 5 - 10.
  • Continue to work on his/her goal sheet and action plan for his/her junior year grades. Use the daily planner to reassess his/her schedule.
  • Continue to be on the lookout for other colleges that may have slipped under his/her radar. Just because the list has been narrowed down does not mean it cannot be added to. If he/she finds a college that is better than what is on the list, exchange them.
  • Continue to work on testing skills by using practice SAT I tests and writing essays.
  • Schedule a SAT I preparation class if offered in your teen’s high school.
