College Scholarship Profile: Voice of Democracy Audio Essay Contest

Age of recipient – Students in grades 9 through 12.
Type of college scholarship award - Audio Essay

Details:

Student must write and record an essay of between three and five minutes. 2007-2008 theme is "My Role in Honoring America's Veterans" Students can enter by submitting the required entry form, along with their essay and recording to a local VFW Post. The scholarship is designed to foster patriotism by allowing students the opportunity to voice their opinion in a three to five minute essay based on an annual theme.

Award Amount:

The first-place winner, who competes with all the first-place VFW Department winners, receives a $30,000 scholarship. there are also other awards ranging from $1,000 to $16,000.
