Why does my teen want to be in their room all night?

By

Question: Why does my teen want to be in their room all night?
Answer: Today's plugged-in teen isn't really spending much of their time 'alone' in their room. They have cell phones to text on, computers to social network with or they could be watching television in there. If this sounds like your teen, you may want to see what you can do to get those things out of their room, then maybe they'll follow.

Otherwise, take into consideration that your teen may just want to shut out the noise of the day for a little while, get some privacy and relax in their own world. This is normal behavior for everyone who has a busy schedule, not just your teen. But, if you find this is happening too much, talk to them about it and maybe set a schedule of when you would like to have some family time.
