Just a theory but I think that the Weasleys are probably the heirs to Gryfinndor, think about it: 1. They are pure blood but hink that muggleborns should go to hogwarts.
2. Every Weasley in the family has gone into Gryfinndor (the sorting hat decided really quickly and didn't even think about putting Ron in a different house).
3. When Ginny was dying in the Chamber of Secrets the soting hat gave Harry Godric's sword so that he could save her from the beast of slytherin.
4. Ron is the only one out of Ron, Herminone and Harry that has never been told they would do well in another house (Harry was told by the sorting hat that he could be in Slytherin (book 2) and Herminone was asked why she wasn't in Ravenclaw when she performed a protein charm and the fake Galleons (book 5).
5. Ron said his mother would hate it if he didn't get into Gryfindor (book 1).
6. This information is related to CoS (which JKR said was related to HBP).
