Praising Teens for Praise Sake

Praising your teen is a very important part of fostering a healthy self-esteem. It is advantageous to mention, however, that praising for praise sake is not beneficial to anyone. In order to benefit your teenager’s self-esteem, your praise needs to have meaning. It needs to follow true effort and accomplishment on your teen’s part. Otherwise, you run the risk of your teenager seeing right through your empty praise and not believing in you or what you have to say.
