Picking a Location for Your Harvest Party

By Denise Witmer, About.com

The location of a harvest party is an important part of its success. Here are five tips when looking at a potential party area:
  1. You will need space. Harvest party games and activities take a lot of space.
  2. Does the area lend itself to the fall motif? Can it be a part of the decorations, like a barn or being partly outside, or will it need some work to ‘bring out autumn’?
  3. Does the location have one or two big areas or is it broken into many nooks and crannies? The more nooks and crannies, the more potential party problems and the more chaperones you will need.
  4. Is the area personally owned by you or someone who is part of the group? If so, make plans to keep people in the party area and away from personal property.
  5. If you are paying for the location of the party, be sure it does not exceed 40% of your overall budget. If you spend too much on the party place, you won’t have enough to throw a great party.
