This fun Halloween recipe is great for older kids and teen parties. The dip can be spooned unto plates, but it works well in small dixie type cups too.
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cook Time: 1 hour
Total Time: 1 hour, 20 minutes
Ingredients:
- 3 large egg whites
- 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 2/3 cup white sugar
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 can lemon pie filling
- parchment paper
- pastry piping kit or plastic bag
Preparation:
Using your beater on high speed, beat together 3 large egg whites, 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar and 1/8 tsp. salt until it is light and fluffy. Still using your beater, very gradually add your sugar. Then add your vanilla.
Place mixture into your pastry bag or plastic bag. Cut a hole in the bottom corner of the plastic bag to pipe out. Pipe out 3-inch bone shapes on the cookie sheet. Bake for one hour and turn off the oven, let sit in the oven for one more hour. Makes about 4 dozen bones.
Serve with radioactive dip(lemon pie filling).
