Science Fair Project Ideas - The Planet Jupiter
Science Fair Projects for Middle and High School

By Denise Witmer, About.com Guide

Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system. In fact, by mass, it's more than twice as large as all the other planets combined. In composition, Jupiter is very much like a small version of our Sun.

Project Ideas:

  1. Build a scale model of our solar system.
  2. Explain the forces at work when Jupiter orbits the sun. What keeps it in place? Is it moving further away?
  3. Study pictures.
  4. What are the features of this planet? Could they support some kind of life? Why or why not?
