Herpes Pictures and Tips on Teaching Teens about STDs

Whether you are a youth director or a parent, it is important to be respectful of the human body when sharing pictures of herpes or other STDs. If you have a group of teenagers or preteens who are too giddy to handle learning about STDs by use of pictures, try one of these suggestions:
  • separate the group into smaller groups;
  • separate boys and girls;
  • teach the group without pictures first, then introduce the pictures at the end of the session or at another time.
