The 500 Best Ways for Teens to Spend the Summer

The 500 Best Ways for Teens to Spend the Summer

Teens learn to love learning through experiences that are unique and different. Use this book from the Princeton Review as your parenting guide to fun learning summer experiences for your teenager.

Book Description

There is no greater missed opportunity than a summer that is just “okay.” Research hundreds of travel, study, work, or volunteer programs–whatever suits you best! Plus, learn how to parlay a great summer experience into a great college application.

Would you rather spend your summer:

  • Mountaineering in Colorado
  • Researching loggerhead turtles
  • Learning Nepali in Kathmandu
  • Working with a nuclear reactor?

Also included: many academic-year and winter intersession programs– for students with more available time.

For each program we explain how intensive it is, how much it will cost, what you can expect to learn, and all the other important details, like location and duration. These fun and exciting programs are just what you need to make your summers both enjoyable and enriching.

Denise's Thoughts

This guide book for fun teen summers is full of exciting and rewarding programs that any teen would love to do. The book offers 500 different programs ranging from private learning lessons to exploring various areas around the world. For each of the programs, the book lists not only the description, but also the goals and focus of the program, what the activities center on and much more.

The most important chapter is the chapter on how to use this book which will give you guidance through the vast amounts of information. I suggest you read this section first and then allow your teen to have at the program profiles. After you and your teen have narrowed down the program choices, then make sure you read the chapters ‘Being a Good Participant’ and ‘Paying for It’.

Exceptional resource book to place in your parenting library.
