Make This:
Grill a burger.
This standard grilling recipe should be taught to every teen who is responsible enough to cook on the grill. Hamburgers are not too simple to make, like hot dogs, and will give your teen a sense of accomplishment when he is eating his burger.
Learn How:
Be a good pen pal.
Teens are unable to see some of their school friends over the summer. So this is a perfect time to learn how to be a pen pal. While staying close via the Internet is fun too, letters allow one to ramble and tell about thoughts, rather than a quick email. The added bonus is when your teen's friend writes back.
Get Out and Go:
Hike a rail trail.
The rail trails are a vast American resource that are free to hike. Free is always a family-friendly word when it comes to being able to entertain for a whole afternoon.
Craft This:
Personal Stationery
Teens like when things have their name on them. It's part of discovering their identity - they like when it's 'all about me'. Therefore making personalized stationary has been a favorite activity every time I've set it up for a teen. And when they use the stationary, they can always make some more.
