When being introduced to your teenager’s date, be courteous and friendly. This is not the time to go over the rules and limitations of dating your teen. If your teen is heading out the door with their date right there and then, be sure to have gone over the rules and gotten all of the information before his/her date gets there.

Ask a few questions about their interests and/or lives, but do not grill your teenager's date. Try to avoid making him/her any more uncomfortable than he/she is already feeling. Lastly, invite them over so that you can get to know them better at a later time.
