Question: How Common Is Teen Sexual Harassment at School
How common is sexual harassment among teens at school?
Answer: According to the ACLU, 81 percent of all students have experienced unwanted sexual conduct during their school years. Although both girls and boys experience sexual harassment at alarming rates, sexual harassment takes a greater toll on girls - 85 percent of girls and 76 percent of boys. And girls who have been harassed are more afraid in school and feel less confident about themselves than boys who have been harassed.
Please remember that sexual harassment can take many forms. It can involve unwelcome conduct by someone of the same gender or it can involve remarks based on one sexual or perceived sexual orientation.
