Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is the fourth book in the Harry Potter series and it introduces us to several new characters: Cedric, Fleur, Viktor and more. The book centers around a tournament in which one student from three schools is chosen to complete three tasks – deadly tasks. The names of the students are given to the headmaster and the Ministry officials through the Goblet of Fire and ancient magical artifact.

Because the tasks are so dangerous, the ministry has created a rule that only 17-year-olds are allowed to enter the tournament. So, you would think Harry is safe, right? Wrong! He manages, through no fault of his own, to get himself in the tournament as a fourth player. I think there are many teens out there that can relate to this turn of events. Getting into trouble while merely minding your own business seems to be a trait of teenagers.

Anyway the story continues as Harry needs to find out who put his name in the Goblet of fire and keep himself alive. All the while, Ron has become a bit jealous. He thinks Harry put his name in the hat and now he is mad. And while Hermione sympathizes with Harry she is trying not to get in the middle of the two's disagreement. Another few talking points for you and your teen: Do you believe in a friend when you think they are lying? Have you ever been jealous of a friend? What do you do when two of your friends are angry with each other?

After Harry completes the first task, which Ron helps him with in the background, Ron realizes that there is no way Harry put himself in that much danger and he apologizes. The friends then embark on finding out who did this and keeping Harry alive, a theme we see throughout the whole series.

Harry completes his second task with help from an unlikely character, Neville Longbottom - the other boy who was born in July and could have been Lord Voldemort's target. But Neville who is happy to be asked for help, gives him a bit of confidence, gives Harry a magical tip about Gillyweed, a plant you can eat and it will allow you to breath under water. Harry uses to save Ron and Fleur's sister, Gabriella, from a watery grave.

In the third task, a maze, someone who turns out to be an enchanted Viktor taking out the other opponents so that Harry gets to the middle of the maze first and grabs the cup. But Cedric and Harry get there together and when they grab the cup they are transported to Tom Riddle Sr.'s gravesite where Voldemort awaits. Cedric is killed, without a second thought, and Wormtail uses Harry's blood to give Lord Voldemort a new body.

Harry gets away and back to the front of the maze. Dumbledore than realizes that Moody is not who they think he is, he is Barty Crouch Jr. and is the man who put Harry's name into the Goblet of Fire.

This quiz is full of questions only from book four of the Harry Potter series and all of the answers have been checked and rechecked. None of the questions are in order and all of the answers have been checked. Harry Potter fans that have completed reading this magical book should have no problem with this trivia quiz. That is to say, if you have read very closely. I hope you enjoy the experience – and most of all I hope it makes you open the book back up!
