Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince is the 6th book in the Harry Potter series written by JK Rowling and enjoyed by millions including me, the creator of this fun quiz. While I enjoyed the book, I wouldn't put it up there as my favorite one of the series only because it gave too little information as to the plot, but it did more the characters along the story line nicely. It could also be that I found Snape to be such a nasty man, to think of him as a young boy and 'in love' was a stretch for me. I needed something in the first couple of books to prepare me for what lies ahead. Speaking of getting ahead, let's get back on tangent.
This book starts with Harry and Dumbledore seeking a new professor for Hogwarts and ends with Snape admitting to being the half-blood prince(his mother's last name) and a pretty powerful wizard. I wonder if he had had a higher self-esteem and more self-confidence if he wouldn't have given Lord Voldemort a run for his money.
Harry is spending his year at Hogwarts and is in pursuit of a memory that he and Dumbledore desperately need to be able to figure out what Voldemort is up to. But Dumbledore really already knows what is going on, I think he was looking for more clues as to the locations of the things Tom Riddle was making. I am also very surprised that Voldemort had let Professor Slughorn live so very long with that important piece of information. He too must be a very clever wizard to evade the death eaters for so long.
Throughout the book there are incidences that point to the fact that things are getting much scarier than it was in other books. More deaths, werewolves out of control and the ministry almost acting like an evil entity unto itself – which is what happens in the next installment. This is a great step ahead with the audience of these books, yet it stayed true to the child-like fantasy of stories like Narnia.
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince lived up to its predecessors. The book answered many questions and added to the many mysteries of the series. For example, in answering who the half-blood prince is and why he has that title, Jo Rowling opened up the path to countless more questions. While fans of her series expected this, she exceeded our expectations.
This quiz will bring up through the book and remind you of the fun parts you enjoyed. None of the questions are in order and all of the answers have been checked. Harry Potter fans that have completed reading this magical book should have no problem with this trivia quiz. That is to say, if you have read very closely.
