Good time management habits help prevent problems in school and with your teen's ever changing scedule. One good habit to get into is checking planners together. This involves all memebers of the family being in the same room at the same time with your planners. It also involves everyone being in the good habit of filling out their planners. So far in our family, I think my middle child has everyone else beat, but we are all trying to keep up to date with our planners. Here are two good reasons why I’m striving to develop this good habit:
- Weeks when you know what is going on, you can get things done. Otherwise, the world seems to pass you by so quickly and nothing seems to get checked off the to-do list.
- When there is too much to do and you know it beforehand, you can delegate. Otherwise, you just get caught up in a mess of things to do. This can cause hurt feelings when say, you almost miss the mom and daughter tea at the school.
This also helps your school student organize homework and projects, which let you know when you need more construction paper. Or when you need to get him/her new basketball sneakers. I really do love when my family remembers to do this and recommend it to all who like, or need, a little organization in their household.
