Book Title::
How to Talk So Teens Will Listen & Listen So Teens Will TalkWritten by::
Adele Faber & Elaine MazlishyyMy Review
Lots of books about teens give advice on how to communicate more effectively with teenagers. What I have found, however, is that there is very little practical guidance about HOW to employ these techniques. This book does just that. It gives you examples of conversations (and probable teen reactions) to help you modify your communications so your teens will listen. I read it cover to cover in one sitting.
What advice from the book have you used in your life?
I have adapted my communications with my daughter to not "give advice" but to empathize and allow her to work things out for herself. I have also learned that instead of nagging to get something done, to state the impact of the lack of cooperation on ME and typically my child jumps into action!
Would you recommend this to a friend?
